Not much to say, just did this for fun.

The Book Thief: Part 3

I've been working on this last piece on and off for a little over a year. I just couldn't get the mood and look to feel right. In fact, I painted that skull at least ten different ways. But now, I think I'm finally happy with how it looks. Hope you all like it as well!

Monster Mash

Say WAHHHH... A new blog post!? Yep, that's right kids, I'm back. And now, hopefully, since I only have one job, I'll be able to post more often.

Anyways... Here are some more Monster illustrations that I did for this years upcoming MCAD art sale. Really happy with how they turned out.

I feel like I should do something more with these guys. But what? If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to let to me know. I'm thinking maybe a small book/zine of some sort.

Summit Ave.

I've always loved the mansions along Summit Ave. in St. Paul. And when I was a kid I used to dream about living in one. Sigh... maybe one day. Anyways, I like these and I think I might sell prints for $20 bucks a piece. Help me become a millionaire and live out my childhood dream! Or, at least, put some food on the table.

Finally... Something new.

Here are some illustrations I did for a recent project. The turnover time was very quick, so I didn't get to put the amount of detail into these as i would hope. But, with that being said, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

Bored

I had to leave work early today because I wasn't feeling good at all. But it gets so boring just lying in bed, so i did this to keep myself amused.

The drawings okay. I don't like the hair though.

Feathers

Was bored the other day so I did this. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Guess I'll give it a little time and see if it grows on me.

Art Sale!

Originally I did these to loosen up my style a bit, and to have a little fun (haven't had enough of it lately).  But after finishing a few, I thought that they may do very well at the upcoming MCAD art sale, so I did a bunch more!  If you're interested in owning any of these then you should go!  I guarantee you'll have a great time, and you'll also be helping out your local starving artist (underline starving).  I'll have many other things there for sale, too!  So, uh... Yeah.  You should totally go!!!

The Book Thief: part 2

I've had this done for a while, but I haven't had a chance to get to a scanner until now.  This is by far one of the most time consuming illustrations I've ever made, but with that being said, I'm pretty happy with the outcome.  The third one is on its way, but in my world that could mean a month from now... or more. *cough*

The Book Thief

Okay, so I recently finished reading The Book Thief, and I was totally inspired.  It's a great book, albeit it can be REALLY sad.  But anybody who even remotely knows me knows how much I like sad things, so this was right up my alley.  That being said, you should all read this book.  I doubt you'll be disappointed.

The book is full of great Imagery and I couldn't help myself but create some illustrations for it. Here's a synopsis for anyone who may be interested. This is the first image of three where Death (the narrator) sees the little girl Liesel (the protagonist).  Their encounters are obviously during sad and poignant moments in Liesel's life, but boy do they make for great illustrations!
